Our Staff

Staffing levels at Mucky Pups meet or exceed those laid down by Ofsted regulations. Everyone we employ is passionate about the development of children and they deliver an extremely high standard of early childhood education.

We seek individuals to join our team who have an empathetic approach and understand the importance of following each child’s own needs. Each member of staff is provided with support and training through individual training courses and regular appraisals.

Each child is assigned a Key Worker who enables a special relationship to be established with the child. There is a developmental record kept by the Key Worker to which you will have access to at all times.

We welcome parents as an essential part of the nursery school ethos and learning experience. By creating this family atmosphere the children are able to share experiences with both parents and teachers. We have always maintained an open door policy as we believe the key to success is communication and sharing.

85% of staff are qualified to a Level 3 or above, an unusually high statistic in this industry and Mucky Pups manager; Mrs Jodie King has been awarded her Early Years Professional Status.

We provide one member of staff for every 3 children up to the age of 24 months; for the 2 -3 year olds the ratio is 1:4 and for the 3 to 5 year olds, the ratio is 1:8. Providing parents with confidence and total peace of mind is imperative. All staff are police checked (DBS) and undergo reference checks before any offer of employment is given.

Members of staff can take their holidays at any time during the year, so from time to time you may see a different face in a different room. In order to ensure these times are stress free for parents and children, the staff all work in a room other than their “home” rooms, allowing both children and staff to get to know each other better. Consistent bank staff are also used whenever possible which allows the children to see as few unfamiliar faces as possible.

We also welcome parents as an essential part of the school ethos and learning experience. By creating this family atmosphere the children are able to share experiences with both parents and teachers.
